LDH are reporting that Standard Liege have set a price tag of €4m for 25-year-old goalkeeper Arnaud Bodart. The paper reports that the shot stopper has already met with the clubs sporting director, Fergal Harkin, and there has been an agreement between the that should a club meet their valuation, the player will be free to go.
Standard are confident in their current number two, Laurent Henkinet, who was made number one for a period of time under former head coach Luka Elsner. Furthermore, there are a number of highly rated goalkeepers in the clubs academy that they believe have the potential to be first choice in the future. Word coming out of the club is that they don’t want to have to spend any money on a goalkeeper for the next 10 years, such is the talent they believe they have.
There has been reported interest from a number of sides across Europe in signing Bodart. The former Belgian U21 has kept 11 clean sheets in 29 league games this season.
