Pape Sissoko is heading to Hungary to gain valuable experience. The Stade de Reims player has signed a one-season deal with Hungarian club Debreceni VSC this Friday, August 15, 2025. This is a loan move with no option to buy for the Malian forward.
The 20-year-old Malian will be looking to earn more playing time and experience in the Hungarian league, following a season at Reims where his minutes were limited (6 appearances in official matches with the first team). Having joined Stade de Reims from the prestigious AFE Academy in Mali, Pape Sissoko is considered one of Mali’s most promising football talents.
“Arriving at SDR in January 2024 from the AFE Academy (Mali), the 19-year-old forward now joins Debreceni VSC (Hungary) on a loan deal with no purchase option,” announced the French club.
As a reminder, Pape Sissoko joined the Reims senior squad last season but was unable to secure a regular spot in the rotation. Seeking more minutes and an environment conducive to his development, the player has agreed to a one-year loan without a buy option at Debreceni VSC, who finished fifth in last season’s Hungarian championship.
