The high wages that current Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte earns would make a return to either Inter or Juventus unlikely for the 53-year-old.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews, who report that Conte is set to depart from his club at the end of the season or even before then, but that it is not very likely that he’ll come back to the Nerazzurri or the Bianconeri.
Conte’s situation at Spurs had already been tense heading into yesterday evening’s Champions League round of sixteen tie against AC Milan.
The fact that the Londoners were dumped out of the competition, meaning that they are now out of all knockout competitions in addition to top four in the Premier League being far from certain, looks to have caused the coach’s situation to finally boil over.
This means that it has become very probable, indeed all but certain, that the former Juventus, Italy, Chelsea, and Inter coach’s time in the English capital will come to an end.
However, despite the fact that Conte has been linked with possible returns to the Nerazzurri or the Bianconeri, the Corriere della Sera reports that right now he would simply be beyond either club’s budget due to his wages.
