Spain are through to the Nations League finals following a comprehensive 6-0 victory over Germany in Seville.

Luis Enrique’s side took the lead when Álvaro Morata headed home his first international goal in over a year from a corner after 17 minutes.

And it was soon 2-0 thanks to Ferrán Torres, who smashed in a half-volley on the rebound after Dani Olmo’s header had hit the post.

Five minutes later it was 3-0 as Rodri got in on the act when he headed a superb Fabián Ruiz cross past Manuel Neuer for his first senior international goal.

And early in the second half, Torres made it 4-0 with his second goal of the night when he finished off a rapid Spanish counter-attack.

The Manchester City winger then completed his hat-trick with a curling low shot beyond Neuer into the bottom corner.

And just to rub salt into German wounds, Mikel Oyarzabal tapped in to make it 6-0 to Spain in the 89th minute.

Germany only needed a draw to progress to the finals but the manner of this defeat will no doubt lead to questions being asked about coach Joachim Löw’s future.

Sweden have been relegated from League A after a 4-2 defeat at the hands of France.

The visitors made a dream start in Paris when Viktor Claesson’s effort deflected off Raphaël Varane for the game’s opening goal after just five minutes.

But France hit back 10 minutes later when Olivier Giroud found the net with a crisp left-footed finish after an assist from Marcus Thuram.

And Les Bleus then took the lead when Benjamin Pavard brought back memories of his goal against Argentina at the last World Cup with a beautiful volley into the far corner.

In the second half, 34-year-old Giroud made it 3-1 with his second of the night when he powered a diving header into the roof of the net.

Robin Quaison then reduced the deficit to make it 3-2 in the 88th minute, but Kingsley Coman made it 4-2 in the 95th minute.

France were already through to the finals as Group A3 winners before tonight’s match had kicked off.

10-man Croatia to avoid relegation despite defeat

That Sweden result means Croatia have avoided relegation from League A on goal difference despite a 3-2 defeat to Portugal in Split.

Mateo Kovačić fired the hosts in front in the 29th minute with just his second international goal on his 62nd senior appearance for Croatia.

The home side were then reduced to 10 men when Marko Rog was shown a second yellow card for clattering into Cristiano Ronaldo.

From the resulting free-kick, Ronaldo forced a save from Dominik Livaković but Rúben Dias was on hand to bundle home the rebound.

Portugal then went in front through João Félix despite replays appearing to show a possible handball from Diogo Jota in the build-up.

However, Croatia quickly levelled again when Kovačić guided a great finish past Rui Patricio for his second goal of the night.

But Portugal nicked it in the dying minutes when Livaković dropped a cross and Dias was on hand to score his second of the game.

Portugal were guaranteed second place in Group A3 before the game began.
