Southampton's 2003 FA Cup finalist Wayne Bridge feels sorry for everything Ramsdale has to go through at Arsenal and Southampton in recent years.

Finishing the season on a bitter note hits hard, and leaving the club afterwards only invites more frustration. Then, be it falling short of winning the Cup final or adding a relegated tag next to an impressive career, these mindset barriers take a decent time to overcome.

In this regard, Southampton's former academy graduate Wayne Bridge and present number one Aaron Ramsdale have struck a similar chord.

Both of them saw a good amount of individual success at St. Mary's but their collective efforts went in vain at the final hurdle. Regarding the former, he left the club ahead of the new season which is expected to resemble Ramsdale's immediate future as well.

Thus, Bridge has been in Ramsdale's shoes before and the defender knows how his younger compatriot must be feeling at this point of time.

Bridge offered his take on Ramsdale's stagnating career progress

Especially, considering that Ramsdale's potential transfer destinations have been decreasing every season. Knowing this, Bridge gave his take on Ramsdale's circumstances on the Dressing Room podcast.

As quoted by TBR Football, Bridge said: "I thought, do you know what? You're earning your money going there. Yeah. And I feel for him. Even at Arsenal, I thought he just got dropped quite quick."

Indeed, the luck factor has been against the 26-year-old for quite some time now. Only a few years ago, he appeared as the rightful candidate to succeed Jordan Pickford in the English goal but now he faces a race against time to lengthen his Three Lions career.

In this scenario, Ramsdale is due to make a risky call before the preseason. Either he needs to accept any change of scenery in the hope of faring better or climb the Premier League ladder with Southampton on the first try itself.
