After attempting to bring him to Southampton in January, the Saints are hot on the trail of Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun.
That’s according to Football.London, who claim that Arsenal want £8m for the player, who has an incredible record in the Arsenal youth ranks.
The United States and England youth international has yet to make his first-team debut for the Gunners, though he’s garnered a ton of attention after 10 goals in 15 Premier League 2 matches last season.
Back in January, Brentford had a £5m bid rejected for the 19-year-old.
With Southampton, Brentford, and Stuttgart all keen to bring in Balogun this summer, Arsenal should be especially motivated to sell, considering Balogun is entering the final year of his current deal and is reportedly refusing to agree new terms.
With Danny Ings, Che Adams, and Michael Obafemi up top, Balogun’s path to the first-team is much less complicated than at Arsenal.
Balogun should expect to make at least a handful of appearances with the Saints this season should he make the move to St. Mary’s, especially if Southampton sell Obafemi this summer.
