Lina Hurtig was a serial winner with Arsenal during her time in North London, winning two Conti Cups as well as a Champions League during just a three season stretch.

It was announced after the Gunners’ Champions League final win at the end of the season that Hurtig would depart the team this summer, and the 29-year-old addressed the situation with a simple caption on her instagram.

“I couldn’t have wished for a better ending. Champions of Europe with this amazing team…. Thank you and goodbye.”

Hurtig made 36 appearances for Arsenal during her time in the WSL, with seven goals in a stint that was marred by injuries.

The Swedish star struggled with a back injury during her first two year’s at the club, with constant setbacks keeping her out of action for the majority of her time with Arsenal.

Hurtig was then forced to take time away from football for personal reasons which she announced on social media.

When she returned in 2024/25 Hurtig again suffered a setback, with another injury ruling her out of Arsenal’s Champions League semi final.

Hurtig was able to end her career in England on a high note though as she featured in a five minute cameo for the Champions League final against Barcelona.

Lina Hurtig signs for Fiorentina

After confirming her departure from Arsenal, Lina Hurtig has agreed to a three-year deal with Fiorentina that will keep her at the club until July 2028.

Although she has already agreed to a deal, Hurtig won’t officially depart Arsenal until July which is when her contract expires.

This won’t be the first time that the Swedish international has played in Italy, as Arsenal signed the forward from Juventus in august 2022.

Before she departs Arsenal, Hurtig will compete at Euro 2025 for Sweden having been named in Peter Gerhardsson’s squad. Sweden are 14/1 to win Euro 2025 according to the best UK betting sites.

As well as Hurtig, Amanda Ilestedt and Teyah Goldie will both also leave the Gunners this summer. Neither player has found a new team yet, but Goldie has been linked with the London City Lionesses who she spent last season on loan with.
