Kamaldeen Sulemana has issued a rallying cry for Southampton to focus on improving the quality of their attacking plays.
Southampton put in one of their most disorganized opening half performances against Bournemouth, agreed. Still, you might have noticed a more vibrant Saints' lineup for a brief duration in the second half.
Evidently, Kamaldeen Sulemana's goal and that entire sequence of play felt refreshing to watch in all honesty. These rare moments convey the wealth of creative genius in the roster that lacks a good decision making capability simultaneously.
Witnessing this issue, Jonjo Shelvey's Southampton verdict feels more believable. Coming on the back of a largely cautious transfer window, a solution to this major attacking hindrance must come from the present squad, itself.
Luckily, one of Southampton's frontmen has come up with a solution. That forward is goalscoring star, Kamaldeen Sulemana himself.
Suggesting an improved gameplan, Sulemana was quoted by the Daily Echo: "We need to be more direct because we were going back and forth. On the second ball, we tried to be the first ones to get the ball."
Noticing Joe Aribo's ambitious drive up front to initiate the attack, Sulemana's match analysis is spot on. Going by a similar attacking pattern, the Saints could get the better of many quality Premier League defences.
Now, many fans could argue about a huge void left on the wide flanks while attempting to play more centrally. Well, here comes the role of Southampton's talented gems.
Remember, Ivan Juric mentioned that Albert Gronbaek would swiftly adapt to an attacking midfield role. Pair him up with Mateus Fernandes in the middle of the park and Dibling as a wide attacker, the Saints could take a significant upswing in their scoring opportunities.
