Fulham are working on a solution to Anthony Knockaert’s situation at the club after failing to move him on during the summer transfer window, Football League World understands.
Knockaert is yet to feature for Marco Silva in the Championship this season. His only minutes under the new regime have come in the League Cup, which Fulham continue this coming week against Leeds United.
Football League World understands that there’s an acceptance the 29-year-old needs to find a new club and a move away from Craven Cottage. The two parties are working together to find a solution.
It’s also been explained that there was a fair amount of interest in Knockaert over the summer. Celtic, West Brom and Queens Park Rangers all had a look at a potential deal, as well as Nottingham Forest, who had the winger on loan last season and reunited him with Chris Hughton.
Ultimately, though, the winger’s wages proved to be a major obstacle for all those looking to reach an agreement for his services.
