Tottenham reascended to the Premier League summit courtesy of a Heung-min Son inspired win over Fulham.
Scorers: Son 36′, Maddison 54′
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg starting for the hosts in place of the suspended Yves Bissouma while the visitors aimed for a repeat of their shock League Cup win.
Son broke the deadlock late in the first half with a sumptuous curling effort after Micky van de Ven had seized upon Calvin Bassey’s unconvincing pass out.
A second followed after the interval when Son slipped a ball through for James Maddison to slot his first Spurs home goal past Bernd Leno in the 54th minute.
Ange Postecoglou’s side hold a two-point cushion over reigning champions Manchester City while Fulham drop down to 13th in the table after the weekend’s results.
