Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said Marcus Rashford is 'living proof' of what Manchester United want to achieve with their young players.

Rashford is set to play against Real Sociedad on Thursday, almost five years to the day when he made a sensational first-team debut by scoring a brace against Midtjylland as an 18-year-old.

Now 23, Rashford has also put in enormous amounts of philanthropy work off the pitch, and Solskjaer is proud of the example set by his young star.

"He's had an incredible impact, both on and off the pitch," Solskjaer said. "He's matured, grown into a real, proper young man who knows what it takes to be a Manchester United player, on and off the pitch. He's taken responsibility on and off it.

"I do remember a young little lad coming on, two nice goals and the celebrations with his team-mates in the stand, of course.

"I think he's living proof of what we want to do at the club, that when you sign for Man United, whether you're 10, 6 or 14, you've got a chance to make dreams come true. Long may it continue, because he has 10/15 years left in him."
