Cardiff City currently sit two points off the Championship play-offs in ninth place and will be hoping to strengthen their promotion bid with all three points against Bournemouth tomorrow.

However, Mick McCarthy’s side face stiff competition against Scott Parker’s side who are yet to taste defeat in the second-tier this season.

Cardiff were unbeaten in the opening four games of the season, but they have since lost two out of their last three to leave them with 11 points from seven games.

Tomorrow’s opponents sit on 15 points however, winning four and drawing the other three thus far. It is a points tally that leaves The Cherries in second position and just a point behind league leaders Fulham.

After last season’s play-off heartbreak, Parker’s ultimate objective is to bring Premier League football back to Bournemouth.

EFL pundit David Prutton has issued his prediction for tomorrow’s contest, going for a 2-1 victory for Bournemouth.

The verdict

Cardiff will prove to be tough opposition, especially on home soil, but in agreement with Prutton, Bournemouth should edge this one.

Going forward, The Cherries look extremely dangerous, with chances being created all over the pitch. The emergence of Jordan Zemura and Jaidon Anthony has been exciting yet surprising, with both possessing the ability to consistently cause problems in the Championship.

Cardiff will also miss Ryan Giles for this fixture. The on loan Wolves left-sided player has been a consistent threat on the wing this season, with his delivery proving to be constantly outstanding.

It promises to be a tight contest between two strong Championship outfits.
