The home side, Leicester, for example, sit top of the Championship standings at present, and hold a commanding lead over those that are chasing them.

Indeed, following the Foxes' 2-1 away win at Watford on Saturday, their lead over second-placed Southampton stands at 11 points as of early Tuesday evening.

Third-placed Leeds United find themselves even further behind, facing a 12-point deficit, whilst Ipswich Town, following their poor recent run, are now 15 behind.

With three wins in their last three league matches, Enzo Maresca's side will certainly be hoping its four on the bounce come the full-time whistle on Tuesday night.

Their opponents Sheffield Wednesday will obviously have something to say about that, though, and they are the ones arguably in need of the points more.

Whilst Leicester top the table, things look very different for Sheffield Wednesday at the opposite end of the standings.

Heading into the round of fixtures, the Owls sit 23rd in the division.

The weekend did bring about a rare victory for the club, though, with Danny Rohl's side securing a 2-1 home win over Birmingham City on Friday night to give their survival hopes a shot in the arm.

The gap to safety currently stands at five points, so every match counts for the Owls at this stage if they are to avoid being cut adrift and doomed for relegation.

David Prutton's Leicester v Sheffield Wednesday score prediction

Unfortunately for the Owls, though, Sky Sports pundit David Prutton does not believe they will be adding to their points tally in midweek.

Whilst he credits Wednesday for their win on Friday, Prutton believes Leicester will win this one by a scoreline of 2-0.

In his Sky Sports column, Prutton wrote: "Leicester are cruising away."

"Every time you think there is the smallest of chances they could get dragged in, they go and reel off another few wins on the bounce to pull even further ahead of the pack.

"Sheffield Wednesday got a massive, massive win on Friday night over Birmingham. "But this is not the game they would have wanted to run into to try and build momentum.

"It’s got home win written all over it."

Leicester City v Sheffield Wednesday kicks off at 7:45PM on Tuesday 13th February.

The match is being broadcast live on Sky Sports Red Button.
