AC Milan will take on Torino in the season opener tomorrow and contrary to reports earlier today, Christian Pulisic could start in the No.10. As such, it could be an attacking-minded starting XI in Paulo Fonseca’s official debut.

Milan gained some valuable confidence during the pre-season as they won four out of five games, drawing the other. The latest display, against Monza in the Trofeo Silvio Berlusconi, was encouraging especially in the second half.

According to Sky Italia this afternoon, as opposed to the report earlier today, Fonseca will capitalise on the attacking momentum by starting Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the tandem and Pulisic as the No.10. The report also has Samuel Chuwkwueze starting on the right flank.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Tomori, Gabbia, Hernandez; Bennacer, Loftus-Cheek; Chukwueze, Pulisic, Leao; Morata.

It’s an XI that most fans have been crying out for, giving space to the in-form wingers by putting Pulisic in the centre, but it remains to be seen how the players will handle the defensive balance. One would have to assume that Tijjani Reijnders is first off the bench.

In any case, it should make for an exciting first clash underneath the floodlights at San Siro.
