The Senegal international defender will now undergo his medical with the Hammers later this week after an agreement was reached with Slavia Prague.

West Ham previously had a £17 million (€20m) bid rejected for the 20-year-old left-back, but have now agreed to pay £22m plus £5m in add-ons.

The Hammers have yet to make any first-team signings this summer, but Diouf could become their first major arrival.

West Ham finished 14th in the Premier League last season, and manager Graham Potter will be desperate to improve their fortunes next term.

They have signed Jean-Clair Todibo permanently after his loan spell last term, while teenage striker Daniel Cummings has joined from Celtic.

The club needs to add more quality players to their ranks to challenge for the top seven next season, and the impending arrival of Diouf is a good start..

He ended last season with seven goals and two assists in 29 games for the Czech First League club.

His performance against England while on international duty last month caught the eyes of many people as he played a massive role in Senegal’s 3-1 victory.

Diouf will fancy his chances of replicating that performance in the West Ham colours, and signing him could prove to be a smart recruitment.
