Six first team players will be leaving Portsmouth this summer following the expiry of their contracts with the club.

Pompey provided a squad update via a post on their official club website this evening.

It has been revealed that Nicole Barrett, Erin McLaughlin, Daisy McLachlan, Annie Rolf, Ella Humphrey and Scarlett Williams are all moving on this summer.

Defender Rolf and midfielder McLaughlin are the most high-profile departures. The pair were ever-presents for Portsmouth in their debut campaign in the Barclays Women’s Championship. The other departing players appeared less often for Jay Sadler’s side this season.

After the players’ departures were confirmed, Portsmouth boss Sadler said “Saying goodbye to players is never easy. At the end of the day, they’re people with emotions – individuals I’ve got to know well during their time here.

“We’re incredibly grateful to all those who are moving on. Every one of them has played a vital part in our successes this season and have carried themselves with great endeavour.

“A key part of our culture is ensuring players leave the club on good terms and I want them to know they’ll always be part of this football family. Everyone connected with Pompey wishes them all the best for the future.”

Ten players remain under contract with Portsmouth while the club have taken up options in the contracts of Ava Rowbotham, Emily Pitman and Izzy Collins.
