Daniel Jebbison could make the move away from Bramall Lane after being targeted by multiple clubs

Ipswich Town, Leeds United, and Everton have all reportedly shown their interest in Sheffield United's 20-year-old forward Daniel Jebbison.

With competition rising to secure the Canadian Englishman's signature, the three clubs are looking to capitalise on Sheffield United's relegation from the Premier League and the Blades will need to do all they can to retain their promising youngster against a difficult off-field backdrop.

Contract negotiations are in place to extend Jebbison's stay at the Lane, but with attractive offers potentially on the table, the striker could be on the move, according to reports by HITC

Sean Dyche's Everton are looking to bolster their strikeforce, Ipswich need to experiment with fresh talent in hopes of Premier League survival and Leeds have to replenish any inevitable outgoings after just falling short of the promotion mark in May.

Blades should be keen to retain Jebbison

Sheffield United, meanwhile, must comprehensively assess their attacking options ahead of their return to the Championship.

Last season's favourited striking options are either fleeing Bramall Lane to further their personal careers, have a tendency to be stricken with injury, or are simply lacking experience.

Cameron Archer, who appeared 32 times for the Blades, has returned to Aston Villa following relegation. He was a mainstay in the forward line for the majority of the season, netting four Premier League goals along the journey.

He has returned to Villa due to an obligatory buyback clause in the deal that saw him join the Blades.

The blow of losing a not only consistently available player but one that contributes to goals and assists in what was a lacklustre Sheffield United attack speaks volumes of his importance to Chris Wilder's side.

This departure only exacerbates their striking issues, given their other options in Ollie McBurnie and Rhian Brewster, who have both struggled to remain fit. McBurnie could well be on the move himself as his contract is up this summer while reports suggest he has been offered a new deal on reduced terms.

Jebbison falls into the category of having potential but lacking experience, alongside his striking counterpart Will Osula. Osula featured more under Wilder last season, making nine starts in 21 appearances in comparison to Jebbison's one final-day appearance off the bench at home to Tottenham Hotspur, but a large part of that may be due to the injury and illness that kept the latter out for long parts of 2023/24.

Jebbison has impressed during his tentative game time and, at only 20 years old, still has plenty of time to showcase himself for the Blades - with even greater opportunities due to come in the second tier.

Jebbison's play style fits the EFL

Jebbison has shown plenty of promise in the early stages of his career but when given the options should first and foremost seek a club that can promise more regular playing time.

Although showing signs of promise at Sheffield United and notably during his time at Burton Albion in League One, unavailability through injury has marred his progression thus far.

The youngster has all the hallmarks of a modern-day centre-forward. Combining his height and strength with pace and athleticism, he also shows coolness and technical ability on the ball crucial in the final third, aiding link-up play in and around the box. Stylistically, the forward ticks a lot of boxes for a club at the top end of the Championship but is considered untested in the top division.

Sheffield United Takeover stalling

The most pressing situation currently ongoing at Bramall Lane leaves Sheffield United in transfer limbo whilst the South Yorkshire club awaits a financial takeover.

Chris Wilder is having to wait for the potential takeover completion by an American consortium until he can properly commence a summer of recruitment and retention. The consortium's plans are currently under review by the EFL, which involves thorough "fit and proper" checks and the provision of detailed financial information about their future plans for the club.

Despite the delays, there is optimism that the takeover will be completed in time for the summer transfer window. This could provide much-needed investment for the club, especially as they look to reshape a squad fit for the Championship following a challenging season.

With the inevitability of Archer out the door, Sheffield United should look to rebuild with Jebbison in the forward line plans as a breakthrough season should be just around the corner for the 20-year-old.

The promise of a regular place in the team may just be enough to help the Blades fend off the likes of Leeds and Ipswich to keep their man.
