Sheffield United and Birmingham City had contrasting weekends in the EFL.

Whilst Blues would likely kill for Sheffield United’s lofty position chasing automatic promotion, they were 2-0 winners against Rotherham United at the weekend, as John Eustace’s side moved 10 points clear of the bottom three.

Up at Bramall Lane, meanwhile, Paul Heckingbottom watched his Blades slip to a fourth defeat in six games against Luton Town, allowing Middlesbrough to close in once more.

One major talking point looking back on the weekend’s action stemmed from Birmingham’s game, where Reda Khadra scored a wonderful goal on only five minutes to set Blues up for their win.

That was Khadra’s second goal for Birmingham since signing for them on loan in the January transfer window, having failed to make a regular impact at Sheffield United during the first-half of the season.

The 21-year-old played 15 times in the Championship for Sheffield United and scored once in a 1-0 win over Swansea City. However, he was very much a square peg in a round hole when it came to Heckingbottom’s 3-5-2 system. When he played, it was often central or at wing-back, rather than in a regular position out wide.
