Lassina Traoré will be sidelined for an extended period. The Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk has officially announced a major new injury to their Burkinabè striker. The player has sustained a quadriceps injury, a serious lesion that requires surgery, which is scheduled for the coming days.

Indeed, Lassina Traoré is suffering from a torn quadriceps tendon, a severe injury that seriously jeopardizes his upcoming participation both for the club and the Burkina Faso national team. The 24-year-old striker is therefore preparing to go under the knife. The club has not disclosed the exact date of the operation.

It should be noted that this is not the first time Lassina Traoré has faced this type of injury. To recall, in May 2023, he was already sidelined for several months due to quadriceps tendinitis. Just a few months later, in August 2023, the player underwent surgery in Finland for a torn quadriceps tendon, which kept him off the pitch for a significant period.
