Joaquin Caparros, sporting director of Sevilla, revealed to Estadio Deportivo that the Andalusian club seek to make André Silva’s loan deal permanent.
The Portuguese international scored a hat-trick in his Sevilla debut against Rayo Vallecano, which was the first La Liga debut hat-trick since Romario scored three goals for Barcelona against Real Sociedad in 1993.
Silva followed up that performance by scoring the only goal in Portugal’s 1-0 UEFA Nations League win over Italy.
Sevilla signed the former Porto man on loan with the option to buy, with the redemption clause for the player set at €30m.
“We have a right of redemption and we hope to exercise it,” Joaquin Caparros told Estadio Deportivo.
“It doesn’t matter how much we have to pay, the price of a player depends on how he performs.”
Silva arrived at Milan from Porto in summer 2017 in a €38m deal, however, the 22-year-old failed to impress in league play and scored just twice in 24 Serie A appearances.
