It has been widely reported that the Rossoneri are now looking around at alternative areas to build on their own and therefore without Inter, with the likes of La Maura, Sesto San Giovanni and San Donato all discussed.

Interviewed by the microphones of La Repubblica, Roberto Di Stefano – the Mayor of Sesto San Giovanni – spoke about the issue of the new stadium and invited them to consider his region.

“We are in constant contact. Sesto welcomes them with open arms: after removing the charges for the reclamation, we guarantee certain times and volumes. They’ve had the dossier on Sesto for months. Now it’s up to them to evaluate,” he said.

Then, Fontana spoke at an event that was attended by the Region regarding the construction of the new stadium for the clubs, with his comments relayed by Calciomercato.com.

“I think it is necessary for clarity to be clarified, a path to be established and of choices so that, whether it is a single stage of the old initial project, or whether they are two distinct stages, I believe that the clubs have the right to have an answer,” he said.

“These are assessments that will have to be taken by those who have to decide, and they will have to be taken by the two clubs. It seems to me that the initial project is not dead yet, it is clear that the public debate has set limits.

“It will be the two clubs that decide whether in any case, they accept the limits or not but it is important that we arrive at a solution.”
