Chelsea have a great opportunity to push on in their quest for UEFA Women’s Champions League group qualification when they travel to Switzerland to face Servette FCCF on Tuesday.

The Blues have four points from their first two fixtures and now face the group minnows Servette FCCF in back-to-back games.

Ahead of The Blues’ latest tie in Geneva, FAWSL Full-Time have been looking at the UEFA statistics surrounding the fixture. Here are four facts which relate to Chelsea’s group game against Servette FCCF.

A meeting of firsts

Chelsea’s fixture against Servette FCCF will see The Blues face Swiss opposition for the very first time in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Equally, their opponents have never faced English opposition with Les Grenat enjoying their most successful campaign in Europe.

Super Swedes could hit UEFA Women’s Champions League appearance milestone

Chelsea’s Swedish duo Magda Eriksson and Jonna Andersson will make their 30th UEFA Women’s Champions League appearances if they feature in Geneva. Only Millie Bright, Ji So-yun, Pernille Harder and Fran Kirby have more competition appearances under their belts than Eriksson and Andersson.

Servette FCCF have already conquered Great Britain in this season’s competition

Servette FCCF are no strangers to facing British opposition in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. The Swiss club defeated Northern Irish side Glentoran 1-0 in their Round 1 semi-final tie before sending Glasgow City crashing out with a 3-2 aggregate victory in Round 2. Defeating last season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League finalists in the group stage is undoubtedly a tougher prospect.

Both sides have decent recent domestic form

Chelsea go into this week’s fixture having won their last seven domestic fixtures in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and Vitality Women’s FA Cup. Meanwhile, Servette FCCF have won seven of their last eight games in the Nationalliga A and in the Swiss Women’s Cup, their only loss coming a fortnight ago when they were defeated 2-0 by Grasshoppers in Geneva.

The UEFA Women’s Champions League group fixture between Servette FCCF and Chelsea kicks-off at 5.45pm on Tuesday evening and will be available for fans to stream live on DAZN.
