Victories for Venezia and Empoli have transformed the race to stay in Serie A, because with two rounds to go, there are six clubs who could still be relegated.

Week 36 has been a crucial crossroads in the campaign not just for the Scudetto race and Europe, but also to see who goes down to Serie B.

Monza are already doomed, despite their 2-1 win over Udinese, so it remains to be seen which two other teams will join them this summer.

There were some huge results, above all Empoli’s 2-1 win over Parma and Venezia seeing off Fiorentina 2-1.

This is the first time since Week 2 that Venezia have been out of the bottom three.

Like the Scudetto, this season if two teams finish level in the final relegation spot, then they will fight it out in a play-off.

If three or more sides are level on points, then a mini-league is drawn up based on their head-to-head records.
