Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided a new Xavi Simons to Chelsea update as things go quiet on that one.

Obviously it’s all part of negotiations in football transfers and sometimes things take time to be agreed. Chelsea will be looking to get the very best deal for Simons right now, but yesterday it all went rather silent on the deal.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea’s plans for the rest of THIS window REVEALED with more new signings targeted AFTER Hato, Simons, & Garnacho!!

This will of course lead to fans becoming concerned that it might have broken down at the final stages. which is something that has happened before and does happen.

But right now, it doesn’t look like it has broken down. Romano provided a very positive update on Simons to Chelsea on Monday night, but yesterday it went quiet.

He also had a VERY positive update on Jorrel Hato to Chelsea update late last night, with the ‘here we go’ now coming soon on that one apparently.

But what about Simons?

Well, unfortunately it looks like this one is further behind than Hato to Chelsea, but it also does not look like talks have broken down at all.

Romano said this last night on the Simons deal:

“First step [on attackers], go for Xavi Simons, conversations advanced with Leipzig, then next step consider [Alejandro] Garnacho as an opportunity in month of August, if United conditions to sell will match up with Chelsea conditions. For this all to happen, Chelsea will also need Nkunku and Sterling to go, and for Garnacho obviously to not go elsewhere.”

Hopefully today brings a breakthrough

I expect to hear something more positive on Simons today as well. But if it goes on much longer then you wonder if it will even get done at all and if one party will walk away from the deal.

However, I am sure it is all just part and parcel of negotiations and there are just some final details to still tie up.
