Next season will see Serie A games played on Boxing Day for the first time.
The change has now been confirmed, with Italy’s top flight joining English football in scheduling games on the 26th December.
“We are convinced that this solution will produce great results,” said Giovanni Malago, extraordinary commissioner of the league.
Serie A games will take place on 22nd, 26th, 29th December in the 2018/19 December before football in Italy’s top flight has a two-week break.
On Monday, Serie A also announced that their summer transfer window will only run until 18th August, a day before the league season begins.
