Juventus and Fiorentina claimed victories to maintain their 100 percent start to the Serie A Femminile season. Elsewhere, Inter had to settle for a draw in their Milan derby clash against their local rivals.

As well as those three matches, we also round up Roma’s successful away clash with Como and Napoli’s narrow win over Sassuolo.

Napoli 1-0 Sassuolo

Napoli bounced back from consecutive Serie A defeats to claim their first league win of the season in Friday’s clash with Sassuolo. The game was ultimately decided by Debora Novellino’s sensational strike in the second minute. Novellino controlled a throw from the right flank before sending a left-footed shot looping over the back-pedalling Solène Durand. The hosts held on to their slender advantage to condemn Sassuolo to their second defeat of the season.

Lazio 1-2 Juventus

Juventus left it late to clinch maximum points in their away meeting with Lazio. Eva Schatzer required just 10 minutes to put the visitors in front, guiding the ball home from Lindsey Thomas’ neat cross. Eleonora Goldoni headed in from Louise Eriksen’s deep delivery to pull her side level just before the half-hour mark. Juventus looked to be held to a draw until Sofia Cantore snatched all three with an 84th-minute winner. The forward hooked a bouncing ball over Sara Cetinja to net her third competitive goal of the season and maintain Juventus’ perfect start to the campaign.

Como 1-3 Roma

Roma came from behind to claim their first win of the Serie A season. Julia Karlernäs headed home from an outswinging corner to give Como a 23rd-minute lead. The lead lasted just over 10 minutes before Evelyne Viens raced through on goal to slot past Astrid Gilardi.

Viens found the net again on the stroke of half-time to register a brace for the second game in a row. Roma added a third in the opening stages of the second half when Sanne Troelsgard’s effort bounced off the post and against Gilardi before nestling in the net. The reigning champions saw out the remainder of the contest to seal a win which moved them up to fourth spot.

Inter 1-1 AC Milan

Inter missed the chance to claim a third consecutive victory after being held to a draw in the Milan derby. The hosts thought they had won the game when Tessa Wullaert opened the scoring in the 77th minute. The Belgian linked up with Elisa Polli before drilling the ball into the bottom corner. The visitors refused to give up hope and utlimately scored a dramatic late equaliser. Emelyne Laurent towered high at the near post to head home from Marta Mascarello’s inch-perfect corner. Laurent’s effort ensured Milan could celebrate their first point of the season after a tough Milan derby battle.

Fiorentina 4-0 Sampdoria

Fiorentina bounced back from a disappointing 7-0 Champions League defeat against Wolfsburg to claim maximum points in their home clash with Sampdoria. Madelen Janogy sent a fierce left-footed strike into the far corner to give her side a narrow lead at the break.

Agnese Bonfantini slotted home her first league goal for Fiorentina to establish a two-goal lead in the opening stages of the second period. Janogy then pounced on a defensive mix-up to roll the ball into an empty net. Like Janogy, Bonfantini also celebrated a brace as she fired a driven strike past Amanda Tampieri at the near post to wrap up the scoring.
