Leaders Juventus produced a dominant display to get the better of AC Milan on matchday nine of the Serie A Femminile season. At the opposite end of the table, Sassuolo swept past Sampdoria to end the wait for their first league win of the campaign.
As well as those two matches, we will also round up the other three games that took place on a weekend where each game yielded a home victory.
Roma required just one goal to take maximum points from Saturday’s home clash with second-placed Fiorentina. The reigning Serie A Femminile champions found the breakthrough thanks to Giada Greggi’s ninth-minute effort. The Roma midfielder produced an unstoppable strike from the edge of the box to give her side a precious lead.
The hosts remained resolute at the opposite end of the pitch to clinch a third consecutive league win. As for the visitors, the defeat brought an end to their run of five consecutive victories in all competitions.
Juventus moved four points clear of the top of the table with a commanding display against AC Milan. Cristiana Girelli required just five minutes to head Juve into an early lead. Arianna Caruso then tapped home from close range to give the hosts a two-goal cushion inside the opening 10 minutes.
Juventus consolidated their strong position with another goal in the second period. Sofia Cantore raced onto Caruso’s through ball, before she chopped back onto her right foot to drill a fierce strike into the top corner. The leaders stood firm at the opposite end of the pitch to record a fourth consecutive clean sheet in all competitions.

Nadine Nischler produced a match-winning performance to lead Como to a comprehensive win over Napoli at the weekend. The 24-year-old powered home a header from Chiara Cecotti’s drilled cross to open the scoring inside the opening 30 seconds. As the game moved past the half-hour mark, Marija Banušić spurned the chance to pull her side level when she thumped her penalty against the crossbar.
Banušić was made to rue that miss as Como netted two quick goals to establish a three-goal lead before the break. First, Elisa del Estal latched onto Nischler’s header to fire a spectacular volley out of the reach of Doris Bačić. Nischler then pounced onto a loose ball to score her second and Como’s third goal of the game. The hosts were unable to add to their tally in the second period, but they would have been more than satisfied with the size of the scoreline.
Sassuolo ended the wait for their first win of the season with an impressive performance against relegation rivals Sampdoria. Daniela Sabatino coolly lifted the ball over Amanda Tampieri to give her side an 11th-minute lead in Saturday’s home fixture. Sabatino then showcased her composure from the penalty spot to double Sassuolo’s advantage just before the half-hour mark.
Sampdoria’s hopes of mounting a fightback were quashed by Kassandra Missipo’s 78th-minute effort. The 26-year-old rounded the goalkeeper to slot home after being sent through on goal by Sabatino’s neat through ball. As a result of the win, Sassuolo have leapfrogged Sampdoria into ninth spot, leaving the visitors propping up the table.
After going two league games without a win, Inter got their Serie A campaign back on track with a narrow victory over Lazio. Chiara Robustellini prodded the ball home from close range to put her side in front on the half-hour mark.
Lazio were given the chance to restore parity when the referee pointed to the penalty spot in the second period. However, Megan Connolly failed to capitalise on the golden opportunity. The 27-year-old saw her spot-kick pushed away by Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir. The penalty save proved enough for Inter to clinch maximum points and condemn Lazio to a third consecutive league defeat.
