Pape Thiaw has announced his squad list for the 7th and 8th rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Sudan (September 5) and DR Congo (September 9). He has handed a first call-up to Moustapha Mbow.

Here are five things you should know about Moustapha Mbow, the latest addition to the Lions of Teranga.

- Born on March 8, 2000 in Dakar, the 25-year-old defender has been playing for Paris FC since July 2023.

- He is a product of AF Darou Salam, which he left for Europe in 2019. He started out with the U19 team, then joined the Stade de Reims B team before signing his first professional contract in 2021.

- He went on loan spells at Nîmes Olympique and then RFC Seraing in Belgium. After returning to Reims in 2023, he joined PFC in Ligue 2.

- He played in the U20 AFCON in 2019 and the U20 World Cup the same year with the Lion Cubs.

- In two seasons with Paris FC, he played 75 matches and scored once. He has already started twice at the beginning of this season as the Parisian club makes its return to Ligue 1.
