América have reportedly decided who will take over their famed number 10 jersey following the departure of Giovani dos Santos.
The former Barcelona and Tottenham was expected to do great things with the Las Águilas, but his injury-plagued two-year stint at the Estadio Azteca came to an end last month as he exited to become a free agent.
That left fans wondering who would be next to be honoured with the number.
According to respected journalist Jonatan Peña, Sebastián Córdova will be entrusted with it ahead of the 2021 Apertura campaign.
The 24-year-old has become a focal point of the Azulcrema’s attack, and looks like being a mainstay in the team for many years to come.
Assuming the report is bona fide, Córdova will be the first homegrown América star to wear the #10 since club legend Cuauhtémoc Blanco.
