Season begins with nine straight wins

Real Madrid have made a spectacular start to the campaign, winning all nine of their official games and scoring 24 goals in the process. To find such a sensational start to a season you have to go back to the 1968/69 season, when the side strung together eleven victories, which began with the European Super League triumph against Eintracht Frankfurt (2-0).
In LaLiga, Carlo Ancelotti’s sit top of the standings on 18 points, after emerging victorious from all six fixtures: 1-2 in the opener against Almería; 1-4 at Celta; 1-3 against Espanyol; 2-1 against Betis on the team’s return to the Santiago Bernabéu; 4-1 against Mallorca, followed by the, derby win at the Metropolitano (1-2). The Whites have also made a strong start in Group F of the Champions League. The madridistas’ victories against Celtic in Glasgow (0-3) and against Leipzig at the Bernabéu (2-0) mean they have taken all six points so far and sit two ahead of Shakhtar, who will be Madrid’s next opponents in the competition.
24 goals Vini Jr. is the team’s top scorer so far, with five goals, ahead of Benzema and Valverde, on four. The Uruguayan has found the net in his last three games and has contributed a goal or an assist in his last five. Rodrygo has netted three times; Modric and Alaba two and Hazard, Rüdiger, Asensio and Lucas Vázquez complete the list with one goal each.
