Scotland have made the FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifying play-offs, following Ukraine’s defeat of Hungary.

Ukraine beat Hungary 2-0 in Poland, the second goal coming on 90 minutes, ensuring Scotland finish as Group B runners-up and advance to October’s play-offs.

The European play-offs will consist of two knockout rounds of single-leg matches, with the best three runners-up entering in the second round, to determine the two additional qualified teams and one inter-continental play-offs entrant from UEFA, based on combined records in both the group stage and play-offs.

A dominant Netherlands beat Belarus 3-0 in Group C, to take top spot from Iceland but having played a game more. Jill Roord’s opener was added to in the second half by Aniek Nouwen and Lineth Beerensteyn.

A 78th-minute leveller saw Moldova get off the mark with a 1-1 draw against Lithuania in Group G.

Estonia did likewise in Group 1, but by scoring four times in the last half-hour, having been 2-0 down to visitors Kazakhstan.
