The Tartan Army face Hungary in their third FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia New Zealand 2023 qualifier at Hampden Park on Friday 22 October before welcoming Sweden to St Mirren’s Paisley 2021 Stadium for an international friendly on Tuesday 26 October.
Scotland head coach Losa announced his 24-player squad earlier today with their being significant representation from south of the border.
Charlton Athletic’s Eartha Cumings will be competing for the goalkeeping jersey while Arsenal’s Jen Beattie and Leicester City’s Sophie Howard have been selected in defence. Lisa Evans (West Ham United) and Caroline Weir (Manchester City) return to the Scotland midfield after missing last month’s camp through injury while Lucy Graham (Everton), Chloe Arthur (Aston Villa), Lisa Robertson (Birmingham City) and Kirsty Hanson (Manchester United) also feature. In attack, Chelsea’s Erin Cuthbert and Everton’s Claire Emslie have been included.
Scotland recorded back-to-back wins in qualifying last month. They won their first game against Hungary in Budapest 2-0 before hammering the Faroe Islands 7-1 back home at Hampden Park. The Tartan Army are aiming to qualify for a second consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cup.
