As reported by , Schalke have reached an agreement in principle with Jordan Larsson.
The 25-year-old is expected in Germany with agent Hasan Cetinkaya to finalise the move, and then Larsson will undergo a medical before joining on a free transfer.
Wanted by Celtic, S04 sporting director Rouven Schröder was strongly for signing Larsson as they look to add further competition for their attack alongside Simon Terodde and Sebastian Polter – the Swedish forward offering a different profile to the German duo.
Larsson moved to Spartak Moscow from Norrköping for €4m in 2019 and played 83 games across all competitions, scoring 27 and creating nine. On loan at AIK since April, the Swede scored three and created two in 11 games and is now available on a free transfer.
Schalke have signed no less than 13 players this summer as they look to reconstruct their squad following relegation in 2021, the Royal Blues have since returned as 2. Bundesliga champions.
