Sky Germany reports that SC Freiburg have reached a verbal agreement with Hertha Berlin forward Derry Scherhant over a move in the summer.
A move for the 22-year-old is close to reaching a conclusion after Freiburg reached an agreement with the player. When it comes to the fee, both Hertha and Freiburg are close to reaching an agreement for a transfer fee of around €2m.
Scherhant is a versatile player who can play across the forward line. In the Hauptstadt, he has played 33 times for Hertha this season in the 2.Bundesliga, scoring seven and assisting six. The 22-year-old is also a graduate of the Hertha academy.
Despite Freiburg being close to signing a potential replacement for Ritsu Doan in Cyriaque Irié from Troyes, Scherhant will also offer an alternative as a player who has not only experience in Germany but also in the Bundesliga. On top of this, the 22-year-old will also offer a different profile to their current set of left-wingers in Vincenzo Grifo and Jan-Niklas Beste.
