Roma, Inter Milan, and Juventus are all in negotiations to try and sign midfielder Davide Frattesi this summer, but not yet AC Milan.
This according to Neroverdi CEO, who spoke to Rome-based newspaper Il Messaggero in today’s print edition, via FCInterNews.
Frattesi’s future looks to be one of the hot topics of the summer transfer market in Serie A.
AC Milan have taken an interest according to recent reports. The Rossoneri are trying to replace Newcastle United-bound Sandro Tonali, and are flush with cash from the 23-year-old’s sale.
However, Sassuolo CEO Carnevali has suggested that Milan’s chase of Frattesi is still in its infancy.
Unlike Inter, Juventus, and Roma, who have all had several meetings about signing the 23-year-old, the Rossoneri have not.
This certainly would not mean that Milan couldn’t quickly accelerate to try and sign Frattesi. However, as of yet, Neroverdi chief Carnevali has made clear that they have not actually come forward to try and gin the player.
Asked about Frattesi’s future, Carnevali clarified that “We’re in talks with Roma, Juve, and Inter.”
“I’ve been hearing about Milan, especially after the sale of Tonali, but at least up until now they haven’t asked us about him,” The Sassuolo CEO made clear. “Meanwhile the talks are ongoing with the other teams. We’ve already held meetings with them.”
Carnevali also noted that “The Giallorossi have a 30% sell-on clause, but that doesn’t condition our thinking.”
“Particularly because, it has to be emphasized that we aren’t actually obliged to sell him, we don’t need to do so.”
Carnevali also noted that “Frattesi hasn’t expressed any particular preference, except that he stays in the Italian league.”
Frattesi has made 36 appearances in Serie A during the season just gone. He scored eight goals in the process.
