Jadon Sancho is reportedly ‘pushing’ for a move to Manchester United after seeing a deal fail to materialise despite interest from the Premier League side last summer.

Sancho was a target for the Red Devils last summer as the club looked to strengthen their attacking options, though Borussia Dortmund’s £108m valuation of the winger proved too high for United amid the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Dortmund’s asking price is understood to have since lowered with renewed interest in Sancho expected, and the Manchester Evening News are reporting the England international is ‘pushing’ his agent to secure a move to Old Trafford.

The 21-year-old is understood to have been ‘disappointed’ with his agent over the failure to finalise a move during last summer’s window, with United reportedly never discussing a transfer fee for the player given the protracted talks over personal terms.

United’s opening offer is understood to have been lower than Sancho’s current wage at Dortmund, the winger earning around £190,000-a-week at the Westfalenstadion.

The demands led to the Red Devils withdrawing their interest, though the club could return as they bid to solve their problem position on the right-hand side.

Edinson Cavani’s signing of a new contract lessens the need for centre-forward additions, raising the prospect of increased finances being available to pursue a big-money deal for Sancho.

Liverpool and Chelsea have also been linked, though United appear to be the frontrunners to conclude a deal which proved the saga of last summer’s window.
