Following their initial matches of the 2023-24 Premier League season that ended in a stalemate, Chelsea and West Ham United are set to face each other in a London derby on Sunday afternoon at the London Stadium.

In their first games, both teams came back from behind to secure a tie. West Ham, led by David Moyes, held Bournemouth, while Chelsea managed to equalise against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino will probably utilise the 3-2-4-1 formation making a few changes to the starting XI. Nicolas Jackson will continue to lead the line while Malo Gusto is set to replace Reece James on the right flank due to injury problem.

Defence

Robert Sanchez will continue to function in between the sticks for the Blues. Thiago Silva will form a customary centre-half partnership with Levi Colwill and Axel Disasi at the heart of Chelsea’s backline as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.

As mentioned earlier, Gusto will operate as the right wing back, while Ben Chilwel hopes to catch the eye on the opposite flank. Both of them would be eager to make a difference for the West London club out on the wide areas.

Midfield

Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez will function in the midfield as they try to dominate the ball and engineer enough chances for the Blues to secure all three points this weekend.

Carney Chukwuemeka and Andrey Santos will take a spot on the bench, waiting for their chance to shine in the second half.

Attack

Conor Gallagher will operate on the left, while Raheem Sterling hopes to put his pace to good use on the right.

Nicolas Jackson will lead the line for the West London club on the attacking end of the field, hoping to find the back of the net.

Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke will be named on the bench as they wait for an opportunity to impress in the latter stages of the game if the London club are in need of a goal by then.
