Samuel Umtiti not included in Barcelona’s presentation at the Joan Gamper Cup | OneFootball

As reported by , Samuel Umtiti was not part of the Barcelona team that was presented to the fans at the Joan Gamper Cup.

The Joan Gamper Cup (Trofeu Joan Gamper in Catalan) is a pre-season match in August that is held at the Nou Camp every year. The fixture is an opportunity to present the Barça side that will play in the upcoming season.

Barcelona play Pumas this year, giving the Blaugrana the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of Dani Alves.

The club and his agents agreed not to involve Samuel Umtiti in the presentation as he is not included in Xavi’s future plans.

Even though the Frenchman is contracted to play for Barcelona until June 2026, his agents are looking for alternative destinations for their client that satisfies both him and his current club.

With the signing of Jules Koundé, Andreas Christensen and the imminent arrival of Marcos Alonso, it is very unlikely that the 28-year-old will get any minutes this coming campaign.
