Bukayo Saka has hailed a ‘massive’ win for Arsenal after a ‘frantic’ North London Derby at Tottenham.

Arsenal extended their advantage at the top of the Premier League to four points after an enthralling win over Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Gunners took control of the contest early on and raced into a three-goal lead before half-time, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg heading into his own net from a Saka set-piece.

Spurs then saw a goal ruled out, their celebrations cut short after goalscorer Micky van de Ven was adjudged offside by VAR.

Saka scored Arsenal’s second just moments later, as he skipped inside to fire in a finish for his 15th Premier League goal of the campaign.

It was three before the break as Arsenal scored from another set-piece, with Kai Havertz heading in from Declan Rice’s delivery to send the travelling fans into dreamland.

Arsenal, however, survived a second-half scare as Spurs fought back into the game after the break. Cristian Romero, who had earlier twice come close with headers, capitalised on an awful error from David Raya to reduce the deficit.

Spurs were then awarded a late penalty when Rice kicked through Ben Davies inside the area and Son Heung-min made no mistake from the spot.

Arsenal saw out the win in the closing stages and Saka admits there was a sense of relief as the Gunners navigated arguably their toughest test of the run-in with three points.

“The last 20 minutes wasn’t nice, but it was worth it,” Saka said to Sky Sports

“We know it is a big derby and they don’t want to lose 3-0 at home. Momentum shifted their way, but I am proud of the boys – we managed to get the three points.

“We needed to be calm and everything was frantic. We showed our level-heads at the end and I am proud of everyone, it was a nice moment – we know what it means to the fans.

“It means everything and it is a massive win for us. We have three to go and we will give it everything.”

Manchester City are in action later in the day against Nottingham Forest and Saka said Arsenal will be keeping an eye on the result of their title rivals.

“Pretty much shower, get on the bus and hope for the best. We know City are an amazing team, but they are not perfect we just need to do our job.

“There is not much room for error and we have experience now from last year and we are ready for the last three games.

“We showed that today. Maybe last season that could have ended in a draw and we showed we have the experience.”
