Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen have both made moves for highly rated midfielder Ardon Jashari. According to Sacha Tavolieri, Chelsea are preparing an offer to Club Brugge, while Leverkusen had earmarked Jashari as a long-term replacement for Granit Xhaka. However, both clubs are set to be disappointed.

Jashari’s stance leaves little room for negotiation. “My sole, unique and definitive option is… AC Milan!” he confirmed. With the player’s heart clearly set on a move to Serie A, any Premier League pursuit now appears unlikely.
Ardon Jashari’s emphatic preference for AC Milan might sting, but it reflects a broader issue that supporters have seen before: Chelsea’s scattergun approach to recruitment sometimes lacks the personal touch that sways a young talent.
What stands out most here is not just that Chelsea could lose out on a player, but how clearly and publicly they were rejected. “My sole, unique and definitive option is… AC Milan!” is not just a quote, it is a statement of intent, and for fans at Stamford Bridge, it will feel like another name on a growing list of players who’ve opted for elsewhere.
Some supporters will argue the club dodged a bullet, that Jashari never truly considered Chelsea, and perhaps the scouting department should have known that. Others will point out that serious suitors tend to speak with conviction and clarity from the outset. Chelsea still need depth in midfield, and failing to land a target this early in the process should prompt a rethink before stronger options slip away.
