HLN are reporting that newly promoted RWDM will be without Kylian Hazard for six months due to injury. The brother of Eden and Thorgan will have surgery on Friday after he suffered a torn cruciate ligaments in his right knee and a knock to the meniscus. With the recovery time, it is unlikely that Hazard will feature for the side until early in 2024.
It is certainly a blow for the club and the 27-year-old, who had been looking forward to a return to the top flight. Hazard had been on the books at Cercle Brugge but fell out of favour, joining RWDM initially on loan before making the move permanent last summer. He was then part of the squad that won promotion from the second tier of Belgium football to the Pro League.
The former Chelsea and Lille midfielder has scored eight goals and provided eight assists in 32 games for RWDM. He never made a first team appearance for the English or French sides during his time there.
