Rumoured Arsenal target Debinha will play her football with a new club in 2023 after confirming that she won’t be returning to North Carolina Courage.

The 31-year-old Brazilian international attacking midfielder has spent five years with the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club before recently becoming a free agent. North Carolina Courage have confirmed via an update on their official club website that Debinha has informed them that she won’t be re-signing with the club for the 2023 season.

With Debinha now set to play her football with a new club in 2023, the player will not be short of offers for her services. Clubs in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) could attempt to sign Debinha while it has recently been suggested that Barclays Women’s Super League club Arsenal may also be interested. Gunners boss Jonas Eidevall has confirmed that he will be active in the January transfer window and he needs to bolster his squad with real quality given the fact that both Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema have been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Whoever manages to sign Debinha will have themselves a world-class player. The Brazilian has twice won the Copa América Femenina with her country while her club honours include two NWSL Championship and NWSL Shield successes. The midfielder  has been capped by Brazil on 129 occasions at senior level while she has scored 56 goals.

Should there be some truth in the rumours regarding Arsenal’s interest, a move to North London may appeal with Debinha’s national team colleague Rafaelle Souza clearly loving life as a Gunner.
