Rubens Sambueza continues to discuss desire to return to América

Even at 37 years old, Rubens Sambueza continues to make a big difference in Liga MX, coming off a four-goal, six-assist campaign with Toluca.

Sambueza has just signed a deal with Atlético San Luis, making them the ninth professional club that he’s played for.

Despite having just arrived with his new team, he still admits he wants to return to América.

“For now, I don’t think about it but hey, you never know. It depends on many factors,” when asked about a potential América return.

“Today, I try to enjoy myself and enjoy the club my new club, my team-mates, and the people who work here.

“But I hope it will all work out in the best way.”

Though he is Argentinian born, Sambueza is a naturalised Mexican and is still pleading his case with Tata Martino to be brought into the national side.
