Enzo Le Fée opened the scoring for Lorient (15') before Achraf Hakimi was given his marching orders (20'). Kylian Mbappé cheekily levelled the scoring (29') but Lorient's numerical advantage eventually paid off.

Darlin Yongwa put Lorient back in front six-minutes before half time and Bamba Dieng finished off the league leaders (88') to claim a famous three points.

"It was a disappointing game," said a despondent PSG coach Christophe Galtier. "We didn't manage to use the ball well, and we defended very badly at the same time. We conceded a second goal after going a man down, even though we scored just before half-time, and then in the second half, it seemed to me that for 25-30 minutes, there was a desire to go for an equaliser at least.

"There were still technical errors, but the fact of being at ten against eleven while Lorient pushed a lot of players forward, obviously the team was quickly cut in two, and that gave Lorient opportunities. And so it's no mystery why we ended up losing this match."

Marseille stage stunning comeback

Quickfire goals from Cengiz Under and Alexis Sanchez gave Marseille a 2-1 at home to Auxerre.

OM fell behind thanks to Birama Touré's sumptuous effort (33') but turned the game on its head when Under struck the equaliser (75') before Sanchez completed the turnaround two-minutes later.

The win takes Marseille to within five points of leaders PSG.

"We performed at a very high level," said Marseille boss Igor Tudor. "It should have been 4-0 or 5-0. We had the right mentality until the end and kept pushing. It was a great victory."

Montpellier thump Monaco

Montpellier produced arguably their best performance of the season with a 4-0 win at Monaco.

Two goals from Arnaud Nordin (28' & 72') and a goal each from Faitout Maouassa (65') and Stephy Mavididi (79') struck a huge blow to Monaco's Champions League hopes.

Rennes seal Angers' fate

Rennes beat Angers 4-2 at the Roazhon Park to confirm relegation for Alexandre Dujeux's side.

Goals from Amine Gouri (25'), a Cédric Hountondji own-goal (35') and Jérémy Doku's double wiped out Nabil Bentaleb (19') and Ibrahima Niane's (42') strike's for Angers.

LOSC blitz Ajaccio

A first-half goal haul helped LOSC see off struggling Ajaccio 3-0 at the Decathlon Arena.

Andre Gomes netted twice in 11 minutes (22' & 33') before Rémy Cabella added a third to finish off the visitors.

Lyon keep Euro hopes alive

Lyon came from behind to grab a precious three points in a 2-1 win at Strasbourg.

Morgan Sanson's close-range finish fired Strasbourg in front (15') but the hosts were pegged back by a quickfire double from Castello Lukeba (32') and Maxence Caqueret (36').

Nice strike early

Nice ended their seven match winless run with a 1-0 win at Troyes.

Hitcham Boudaoui was the match winner with a 20-yard strike just two-minutes into the game.

Clermont win again

Clermont made it five wins in a row with a 1-0 win at home to Reims.

Grejohn Kyei netted the only goal of the game in the fourth minute to claim another big three points for Pascal Gastien's side.

Midweek fixtures

Following their Coupe de France heroics, Toulouse will play their Round 33 fixture at home to Lens on Tuesday 2nd May. Runners-up Nantes, resume their battle to avoid the drop when they travel to fellow strugglers Brest on Wednesday 3rd May.
