Celtic Team News

Celtic go into the game without key defensive duo Cameron Carter-Vickers and Greg Taylor, while Alistair Johnston has travelled but may not be risked. CCV (toe) and Taylor (calf) have knocks that will keep them sidelined until after the international break, meaning that Brendan will bring Alex Valle into the team and continue with Auston Trusty and Liam Scales as the central pairing. If Johnston is rested Anthony Ralston will get a rare start.

The team is unlikely to change a great deal from the side that lost to Dortmund with two changes predicted.

Kasper Schmeichel will start in goals. In the back line, Trusty and Scales will continue with probably Alistair Johnston, who has shaken off a back injury, with Valle coming into the side as Taylor’s replacement.

Reo Hatate was omitted from the starting XI in Germany but you’d imagine that he’d come in from the start with Paulo Bernardo dropping to the bench. The midfield three would likely be completed by Callum McGregor and Arne Engels. In attack, no changes as Celtic look to kickback into gear with Daizen Maeda out on the left, Kyogo through the middle and Nicolas Kühn on the right.

Predicted Celtic XI: Schmeichel; Valle, Scales, Trusty, Johnston; McGregor, Hatate, Engels; Maeda, Kyogo; Kühn.

Referee Details

The SFA confirmed earlier this week that referee Kevin Clancy has been handed the whistle for the game in the Highlands. Clancy will be assisted by David McGeachie and Gordon McCabe. Meanwhile, at Clydesdale House, Nick Walsh is on VAR with Alan Mulvanny.

The game kicks off at 12 noon (Celtic Park Time).

The action from the Global Energy Stadium in Dingwall will be shown on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football channels with coverage starting at 11. Chris Sutton and Co will be combing over the defeat in Dortmund and dealing the action in the Highlands. The game will be available to live stream via the Sky Go platform.
