An incredibly entertaining 90 minutes at KSU Football Field kept fans on their toes as some of the biggest stars in the Saudi Pro League went head-to-head.

Al Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo linked up with Sadio Mané within moments to slot the ball beyond goalkeeper Édouard Mendy (who had a blanket of smoke in front of him). Talisca later headed home a smart assist from Aymeric Laport for 2-0, suggesting this could be a rout.

However, Al-Ahli’s attack, led by the efforts of Riyad Mahrez, produced some brilliant goals of their own. Franck Kessié pulled one back after staying calm, cool and collected in front of goalkeeper Nawaf Alaqidi.

Talisca later put the hosts back up by two after Marcelo Brozović’s cross found the winger, and he curled home from range to stun Mendy in net.

Mahrez then turned up the heat for the visitors and rolled home his penalty with ease before proving vital in the match.

A mere two minutes later, Mané put a glorious chance over the bar before Ronaldo showed him how it’s done and recorded the second brace of the evening with a left-footed shot from outside the box.

Mahrez and Roberto Firmino struggled to link up in front of goal, but the former Manchester City man eventually combined with Feras Albrikan to make things a one-goal game but Al-Nassr held on to win 4-3.
