Barcelona have made the most of the January transfer window despite their high-profile financial troubles.
The Blaugrana were one of the most active clubs out of the traditional European giants when it came to the winter market with Dani Alves, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Adama Traore and Ferran Torres all coming through the door.
It might have taken a pay cut for Samuel Umtiti and loaning out Philippe Coutinho to make it happen, but Barcelona have jumped through the hoops necessary to give Xavi’s squad a much-needed revamp.
And while it remains to be seen whether the Catalans have spent their money in the most effective way possible, you can’t fault Joan Laporta for ploughing on through the club’s economic woes.
However, regardless of the footballing and financial machinations at play here, one of the most interesting tropes that surrounds any Barcelona transfer is – of course – the presentation.
Spanish football simply do transfer unveilings better than anyone else with countless examples involving Barca, as well as Real Madrid, seeing tens of thousands of fans packing into their stadiums to witness the new purchase in action.

And no unveiling is complete without said signing showing their skills off to the masses with a few keepy-uppies regardless of whether there’s 1,000 or 100,000 supporters in attendance.
It should, in theory, be a pretty simple task for a professional footballer bagging eye-watering wages on a weekly basis but alas, the nerves have gotten the better of more than a few players over the years.
Weirdly enough, it’s proven particularly prevalent amongst Barca purchases with everyone from Ousmane Dembele to Martin Braithwaite turning into Sunday League players when the pressure was on.
Sadly for meme accounts across social media, Aubameyang and Traore didn’t fall into the same trap during their recent unveilings, but even their tekkers couldn’t quite compare to the transfer reveal to end them all.
We are, of course, talking about Ronaldinho because if any one footballer was built to turn on the style at a Barcelona unveiling then you can be sure as hell that it’s the Brazilian icon himself.
Besides, Ronaldinho’s legacy is perhaps even more special for the fact that he brought so much joy to fans with his entertaining brand of football than any goalscoring tallies or individual prizes he might have amassed.
So, when the simple aim of the game was to showboat with the ball at his feet, as well as shoulder, head and lips, in front of an adoring Camp Nou then you just knew that Ronaldinho would deliver.
And there’s hardly a bad time to watch the most entertaining footballer doing what he does best, so be sure to relive the Barcelona unveiling to end them all down below:
Magic. Absolute magic.
You know you have unrivalled control of a football when you’re not only balancing it on the back of your neck, but you then whip it around your shoulder and give it a good old snog.
Sure, there might be thousands of freestylers around the world who could pull it off, but for a footballer of that level of quality and efficiency to also be able to execute circus-like tricks; it’s an absolute joy.
And that’s why Ronaldinho will always endure in the memories of football fans regardless of whether he pales in comparison to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the GOAT debate.
How well or not you can juggle a football isn’t any indicator of how good you are as a player, but you can bet that it’s one of ten million reasons why Ronaldinho is the footballing GOAT when it comes to entertainment.
