Romelu Lukaku’s injury dilemma as World Cup draws closer

Inter forward Romelu Lukaku is in the middle of a dilemma.

He’s been injured for most of the season since he returned to the Italian club on loan from Chelsea. He’s now almost ready to come back, and he’s desperate to get on the pitch and prove his worth – so that they buy him at the end of the loan and he doesn’t have to come back to Chelsea.

But as SempreInter point out, he’s also very keen to not rush back and aggravate his injury.

Having been out for so long, his physical fitness will also have degraded hugely – always an issue for players his size.

Inter think he needs to reach a high level of fitness before he can play without risking injury, and it could be a few weeks yet before we see him.

Let’s hope he is ready for a huge World Cup, and a strong finish to the season to follow.
