Romelu Lukaku joins Roma on loan from Chelsea

Roma have completed the signing of Romelu Lukaku on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

The Belgian striker will reportedly join the Giallorossi for a €5m loan fee and is set to earn a salary of €7.5m for the season.

Lukaku returns to Serie A for the third spell of his career having played for Inter between 2019 and 2021, and again on loan from Chelsea last season. He is still under contract at Stamford Bridge until June 2026.

The 30-year-old will now reunite with coach José Mourinho, under whom he played at Manchester United, and should add some much-needed firepower to Roma’s forward line.

He has also agreed a restructured Chelsea contract which includes a £37m release clause.

Lukaku has so far scored 288 career goals in 600 games at club level, with 57 of them coming in Serie A.
