Roma’s Paulo Dybala set to miss remainder of the season | OneFootball

Roma have been dealt with a massive injury blow as key man Paulo Dybala requires surgery.

An official statement from Roma via Corriere dello Sport confirmed the requirement of surgery for Dybala’s recent injury to his left tendon. The statement read: “Paulo Dybala will undergo surgery in the next few days following the injury to his left semitendinosus tendon. The player and the club have mutually decided that this is the right path for an optimal recovery from the injury.”

The Argentine underwent several medical examinations in recent days after being forced off the pitch in Roma’s 1-0 victory over Cagliari last weekend. Dybala started from the bench in the match and was substituted in the 64th minute. However, he sustained a knock just after ten minutes on the field.

Dybala’s season is over as the recovery process will carry on till early next season. Apart from missing the final part of the season with the Giallorossi, he will also miss Argentina’s World Cup qualifiers.

It remains to be seen how Roma react to Dybala’s future following this incident as he was already receiving numerous offers from Saudi Arabia at the start of the campaign.
